Evaline are a Californian band without peers – this young band defies definition of their music. When they rock, you are caught up in their energy and when they sing you are transfixed waiting for the next wave of emotion. The group makes you face the dichotomy of expecting nothing, yet simultaneously expecting everything.
Evaline are Richard J Perry, (Vocals, Cello and keys) Dominic DiCiano (Guitar), Steven Pedersen (Bass), Christian Lewis (Guitar) and the Petersen brothers Greg (drums) and Dan (guitar).
Some of their earliest recordings ended up in the hands of The Used’s Quinn Allman at a show in Northern California. Though still very raw, Allman saw potential in the young group and, in time, contacted them with plans to record their material in Salt Lake City. Evaline soon met with a number of record labels—landing a spot on the Maverick Records roster. After a brief period, the EP: Postpartum Modesty. A Portrait of Skin was released. The band then toured continually on the Warp Tour and Taste of Chaos as Maverick tried to sort out their financial breakdown. Some shows supporting Placebo introduced the band to Riverman Management and some months later the band joined the Riverman roster.
The band now have a stack of vital new demos (some of which they played at SxSw 2009) and are currently preparing to record their debut album which will bring their unique and all encompassing view of the world to many more.
